Camp activities will include didactic teaching as well as experiential learning and practice, under the guidance of Shaykh Mokhtar Maghraoui. Sessions will cover what the ailments of the nafs and qalb (heart) are and how to change the state of our hearts. Throughout the camp, ibadah (worship), fikr (contemplation and reflection) and dhikr (remembrance) will be emphasized, in accordance with the Sunnah.
In combination with outdoor activities like hiking and canoeing, this retreat aims to connect us with Allah's creation and enjoy with spiritual focus the natural beauty that surrounds us and the pleasure that comes with taqwa (consciousness) of Allah through a unique spiritual experience.
The retreat will be held from Saturday, October 8th to Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 in a serene retreat setting nestled in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. For registration and further information, please see below.
