3:25pm - 4:10pm The Transformation Within
In life there are events and moments in time that shape our existence. For our beloved Prophet, one of his most defining moments began with the establishment of an unbreakable connection to God through the revelation of the Qur’an. This intimate relationship with the Divine Word continued throughout his life as the Qur'an transformed and supported his mission of calling the people to Islam. As we seek to renew our own relationship to the Qur'an, this session looks at the initial moment the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet and how he maintained his connection with it throughout the rest of his life.

4:40pm - 5:25pm Getting Up After The Fall: Stories of Redemption
We all stumble from time to time, wondering how to get up when we fall. But as impossible as it seems, upheaval in our lives does eventually lead to a greater appreciation and insight into who we truly are and what we stand for. Indeed, as these stories in the Qur'an show, these trials only make us stronger, provided we make the effort to rectify our condition.

5:40pm - 6:30pm Connecting With the Qur’an: Questions or Answers?
Do you struggle with the Qur'an, wondering how to find God in His Word, and not just mechanically moving from page to page online? When you read it, does it provide answers, or more questions? God is waiting for people just like you—spiritual seekers who want to know the truth and who want to meet Him. The best way to know God's guidance is to read His Word. This session seeks to take the intimidation out of reading the Qur'an and connect with God through His Word, exploring tangible ways to prepare yourself, define your expectations, and benefit from the experience. Sharing their personal discoveries that positively transformed their understanding of the Holy Book, our panelists will offer their advice on how we can all intimately connect with the Qur'an.

8:30pm - 9:30pm It’s Not What You See: The Spirituality of Identity
Identities may not be fixed over one's life. They may change by conscious choices or serendipity or calamity—unanticipated, life transforming events which remove what had been the certainties and norms of life, and which can leave the individual disconnected from their past and from their hope for the future. At a time when Muslims are viewed and judged via the prism of their appearance we discuss why a spiritual identity should be actualized, how it interacts with other identities, and why, in giving context to an individual's life, it enables her/him to define and to strive toward a holistic self.

9:45pm - 10:25pm Getting Yourself Out of the Way
In the Qur'an, Yusuf says "Yet I claim not that my nafs [lower self] was innocent: Verily the nafs incites to evil." Islam emphasizes the importance of fighting the powerful impulses and desires from the inciting nafs. One traditional narration states: "the worst enemy you have is [the nafs] between your sides." This session looks at how we can begin the process to understand our base nafsani instincts and strategies to overcome them.

10:30pm - 10:45pm Joining the Hearts Through the Qur’an
The sound of the Qur'an is the predominant and most immediate mean of contact with the Word of God. It is the core of religious devotion, the sanctioning spirit of much cultural and social life, and a valued art form in its own right. Reciting the Qur'an aims at redirecting that focus toward a deeper understanding of the Qur'an as a fundamentally oral phenomenon. Join in this recitation to not only hear but take part in the sacred word, led by one of the most outstanding reciters in America, Shaykh Hassan Saleh.

The Qur'an points to our spiritual and symbolic relationship with nature. In a world facing so many threats, why do we overlook possibly the most pressing issue: water scarcity? All parenting turns on a crucial question: to what extent should parents accept their children for who they are, and to what extent should they help them become their best selves? Drawing on Qur'anic narratives and values, this session mines the eloquence of revelation and how revered figures faced extreme family challenges. Elegantly revealed to us by the Original and Compassionate Lord, the Qur’an should serve as a rubric of how people who love each other must struggle to accept each other—a theme in every family’s life.

We are often reminded in the Qur'an that the world around us is filled with distractions that can keep us from realizing our true relationship with God. In today's turbulent times, these distractions have left many uncertain about where to go from here. The constant bombardment of negativity and injustice from all different directions can leave us dazed and confused. This conversational session will help provide clarity amidst the fog by focusing on the importance of shedding the weight from our hearts and strengthening our personal relationship with the Divine.

3:15pm - 4:15pm Limitless: Seizing Opportunities in God’s Bounties
What does God's "Limitless Bounty" teach each of us every day? How do we look at the Qur’an as a book of action that doesn’t just tell you to worship a Reality but actually live that Reality? Allah rewards those who take initiative with his limitless blessings. Lady Hagar in the desert and Lady Khadija's stalwart support in isolation centuries later are awe-inspiring examples of such initiative. In learning that all the different forms of Allah's bounties are opportunities for each of us, we can be armed with a mindset primed for success to complete our aspirations through a bond with the limitless power of God.

4:25pm - 5:10pm Marching To Spiritual Victory
As turmoil both at home and abroad bring about new waves of resistance, what moves in our heart in response to what unfolds around us? How does this guide our practical efforts of upholding justice and promoting peace? Should "peace" be made even when full justice has not been achieved? How do we balance the requirements of justice with the desire for peace? The Treaty of Hudaybiyah, for example. challenged the Companions notions of both peace and justice, with the Qur'an describing it as an emphatic victory. Is there a greater spiritual wisdom and practical methodology to glean from this that modern Muslims have yet to recognize?
