Khalil Abdur-Rashid

Khalil Abdur-Rashid holds two full ijaazas in Sharia disciplines, both usul and furu, as well as an ijaaza in the spiritual sciences (tasawwuf) and Quran recitation. He completed studies overseas after having sat with traditionally trained scholars in the United States. He holds a Masters in Middle Eastern Studies from Columbia University and is currently working on his PhD in Islamic law and medical ethics at Columbia University. He is also an adjunct assistant professor of Islamic law at NYU and a former social worker.
